Falling into him was a dance with destiny; little did she know it would be her unraveling.

I am pleased to announce a great book release by Eyta Jade, a talented author I met during my journey! Her new steamy multicultural romance with a touch of suspense, Awakened by Him, book one of the Zinklaus Duet, officially releases on August 6th!

Yay! That’s awesome! :) Congrats on your upcoming release!

When a new book comes out, it’s always an exciting time for an author!

Eyta is giving us a look at her steamy, multicultural romantic suspense, Awakened by Him, today.

Nice cover!

This is the blurb for Awakened by Him, book one of the Zinklaus Duet:

Falling into him was a dance with destiny; little did she know it would be her unraveling.

Zina at 24 and fresh out of the academic world, arrives in London for a new paralegal job. She is thrown for a loop when her chance at something new and uncomplicated is threatened from the moment she meets business magnate, Niklaus Clarke.

He wants more from her than she’s willing to give, because giving him more means undoing her past which she’s been running from. Unable to resist the undeniable attraction she feels or the allure of the unyielding billionaire who didn’t get to where he is by giving up, Zina surrenders.

What should have been a mere awakening turns into blurred lines and shattering of boundaries. Until their secrets, lies and half-truths threaten the gravity that pulls them toward each other.

Bridges will be crossed, bridges will be burnt. But, will bridges be rebuilt?

Here is an excerpt to entice you with!

“Open,” Niklaus said.

So bossy, I thought. We were on his couch, facing each other as he attempted to feed me comfort food. A.K.A. Häagen-Dazs caramel cone.

“Why do you have to feed me?” I argued, finding solace in a possible banter to distract me from my solemn mood.

He heaved a sigh, looking at me intently without lowering the spoon of ice cream from where it was – in front of my mouth. “My sweet baby, you are sad and won’t tell me why. But, this I can do for you. Let me take care of you. Let me feed you.”

Tears stung my eyes as I struggled with my emotions. Such simple words evoked powerful feelings in me. All he wanted was to do something nice for me, and yet I remained difficult. So I opened for him, letting him feed me to his satisfaction. I watched his eyes light up every time I opened for another spoon. The fact that he took so much pleasure in doing something so mundane was everything. My heart was in trouble and at that moment, I didn’t care.

When he was done pleasuring me with the taste of rich caramel swirl that only Häagen-Dazs could deliver, he sprawled into the arm of the sofa. “Come,” he said, opening his arms to welcome me.

And, like a dog hungry for affection, I turned, reclining into him and laying my body on his chest. His arms wrapped around me instantly, and I closed my eyes. I felt safe and at home in his arms. Ashraf and his parents had taken me in when I was homeless; my brother had come into my life around when the well, awkward night with Ashraf happened, and we grew apart for a few months. He’d come in and filled a hole from my temporary emotional separation from Ashraf. But the feeling of safety I felt in the arms of Niklaus was different. He wasn’t filling any vacant space. It was like he’d always had a place in my heart, waiting for him to step in and take his place. I’d never felt more at peace, so wanted, so cherished, and all he had to do was feed me ice cream and wrap his arms around me.

Am I falling for him? I wondered. I physically shook my head, wading off the idea, but not before he noticed.

“What?” he asked.

I couldn’t very well tell him my heart was wondering if I was falling for him, but that same heart was convinced the answer was negative. So, I said instead, ‘Tell me something about you.”

He chuckled, the slight shaking of his body as he did so warming me all over. “Am I supposed to believe you haven’t used the school of Google to do your private investigation on me?”

“Would most of what I find there tell me anything real about you?” I challenged.

“No,” he confirmed with a certain resentment. I shrugged.

“Moreover, I haven’t stalked you. I don’t do social media or track people on the internet,” I explained. There was the exception of the night at his parents, but those were for professional reasons and didn’t count.

His arms tightened around me like he couldn’t get enough of me. “You, doux bebe, are one of a kind.”

I smiled. It was nice to hear that someone saw me as a unique being. But, the gag was – he was truly the special one. He’d awakened me, and he apparently had the power to make me feel safe and distract me.

“I’ll start. I’ve always wanted a dog, and I will get one soon.”

“Hmm…I think when I was young, I did too. But, somewhere along the way I forgot.”

I laughed. “Your turn.”

“I just told you I wanted a dog too. That was my something.”

I laughed some more at his manipulative and creative way of deflecting. If I was terrible at revealing things about myself, he was impossible. We were a match made in heaven. But what would that mean for us in the long term? The fact that I was thinking of long term despite insisting that we were just fuck buddies told me one thing – even if I was unable to admit that I might have been falling for him, what I knew for sure was that I was in trouble.

My heart was in trouble.

I personally enjoyed the setting. There were lots of London Easter Eggs throughout the novel and it took me on a journey to a city that I love! It’s a fast-paced romance; an insta-love scenario with a couple that will definitely woo you. Zina is a strong woman and her past is somewhat of a mystery; she doesn’t reveal too much about herself. I’m sure she will unfold even more in the coming books. Niklaus is a billionaire in London. Now, what can we say about that? He’s a player, but he falls for our lead girl and their chemistry goes BOOM. I didn’t always see eye to eye with him on certain things. It was tough for him to win me over. But Zina saved all of that.
Eyta Jade’s debut novel takes you on a ride through London! This story is energetic and powerful. Zina and Niklaus will captivate you. That ending will leave you astonished and begging for more.

This is the first book I’ve read from Eyta, and I will honestly tell you it was very well worth it! Awakened by Him was a lot of fun, what I loved the most was the connection between Niklaus and Zina. It was explosive but still refined and had a level of poshness to it, I also loved that it was an international setting! The book takes place in London and held that British quality throughout my reading experience. I would really recommend it to new comers of her work! She nailed the story for me and she’s someone I will definitely look for more from!Bonnie Natola, Goodreads

Starting at the bottom in a new job is hard. Finding out that the only man that’s ever given you a visceral reaction to touch is your client? Not good. Finding out said man is also your boss’s boss’s son? YIKES!
I enjoyed this first novel by Eyta! Awakened By Him is full of sexy sarcasm, dirty demands and has a hell of a twist at the end. Niklaus is a seriously delicious dominant yet sweet alpha. Commanding in the best of ways, he has no issue with showing Zina just how good sex can be yet he doesn’t fail to push her in realizing they have more than just sexual chemistry once he wants more. Nik knows what she needs before she even does.

Zina is confident as hell in the workforce but when it comes to being loved? That’s a whole different story. She is just as closed off as Niklaus when it comes to her past or even current life outside of work and the bedroom. She’s quick to remind him his presence is wanted but not needed. I always love when a heroine stands her ground. Zina struggles with truly accepting his affection based off of events in her childhood that she has yet to reveal, but by the end she ignores her head and listens to her heart.Jessie, Goodreads

Nice teaser! Gotta love this sneak peek. ♥♥♥

I can just imagine this will be quite a read for me!😉

(Rapid knock on the studio door.)

(Marie frowns.)

Who could that be? I’m not expecting a package or anything.

(Footsteps approaching.)

Oh, my! Wow, I didn’t know you were coming…

This is even better, readers. We have the author, Eyta Jade, who just dropped in for a quick visit. Let’s give her a warm welcome! 😀

It’s great to have you here, Eyta. Please come and sit down for a sec.

Author Eyta Jade: Hi, Marie! Thanks for letting me stop by.

Marie:  Of course, it’s my pleasure! So nice to meet you in person, by the way! (Shakes hands with her guest.)

Eyta:  Great to meet you too.

Marie:  Well, I hope you don’t mind if I ask you a few questions while you’re here?

Eyta:  Sure, I’d love that! 🙂

Marie:  Awesome!

Can you tell us a little about your background? When did your first book come out and where can we get it?

Eyta:  I’m not a fan of talking about myself because I’m so boring, so I’ll just state three facts about myself that I feel fundamentally summarizes who I am.

  1. I connect musical lyrics to everything. Music has helped me through the darkest times of my life and I’ll never take it for granted- My main favs are soul music, neo-soul, R&B, and Beyoncé.
  2. I am a time control freak. No matter how many times someone is late to a mutually agreed meeting, I’ll always be there at least 30 minutes earlier.
  3. I am African, and although in a lot of ways I don’t fit perceived stereotypes by even the standards of Africans, I love my culture and identity.

My debut novel Awakened by Him releases on 6th August. In fact, you can pre-order it at the sale price of $0.99. It is still exclusive on Amazon, but I plan to take it wide after a few months.

Marie:  That’s fantastic!

A lot of readers love origin stories. What inspired you to start writing?

Eyta:  The first romance book I remember reading is Full Circle by Danielle Steel. Although my books are a lot steamier, I was inspired by the emotions it evoked in me. I have this belief that although actions speak louder than words, words cut deeper. It’s that power of piercing through the hearts and mind of people that also inspires and humbles me.

Marie:  Nice! 😉

How did you get into writing romance?

Eyta:  After reading Full Circle, I knew that for life, I wouldn’t be able to abandon the romance genre. My stories are very diverse, and it’s a devotion to little me who felt so marginalized by characters that I loved, but did not fully see myself in.

I should add that what I love the most about romance is its ability to blend with any genre. It’s so versatile and flexible in its use. It really wows me.

Marie:  Me too!

What, do you feel, sets Awakened by Him apart from other books in the genre?

Eyta:  This will just be my personal opinion as I know reading is subjective, and some readers have agreed with me – my unique style of storytelling, subtle messages, the setting, and diversity.

Marie:  Okay, great.

(Phone rings.)

Oh, no, it looks like our guest had to take a personal call outside. I guess I’ll have to chat with her via email again when I get a chance. But in the meantime, let’s give her a big round of applause for her new release, shall we? Believe me, it’s not easy to write a book, and especially a challenge to polish one and get it out on the market.

How about a hand for Eyta?

Woo, that’s better… 😀

Thank you for telling us about your new multicultural, steamy romantic suspense novel which is coming soon! It sounds fabulous! 🙂

Readers, don’t forget to pick up a copy of this great read! Or, add it to your Goodreads or BookBub shelf!

Author Bio

When Eyta Jade read Danielle Steele’s Full Circle, a dream was born. A dream to evoke the kind of emotions that reading the book did for her.

Eyta knew that no matter what or how long it took, she would always find her way to becoming an author.

When Eyta isn’t penning down tastefully written steamy romance stories, you’d find her reading one instead.

Lest we forget, she obsesses over wine, soul and R&B music.
