The I Love Romance Blog is a place to talk about the topic of love and any romance novels we’re interested in. ♥ This may take the form of author interviews, book spotlights, articles about relationship tips or romance writing, and even book reviews.
HOST/MODERATOR
My name is Marie Lavender. I am a multi-genre author of 21 books. I have written and published in the genres of historical romance, contemporary romance, romantic comedy, paranormal romance, fantasy, romantic suspense, science fiction, dramatic fiction, mystery/thriller, literary fiction and poetry. The list of genres/subgenres just goes on, as you can see on my ‘Projects and Writing’ page on my official author site. I also write love poems now and then for ILRB. Romance is a weakness of mine as both reader and writer. My author website is http://marielavender.com/.
I run another blog called Writing in the Modern Age.

BOOK REVIEW TEAM and Reading Preferences
Sarah B.
– mostly reviews books by Australian authors or set in Australia
I’m an avid reader in Australia, love to read romance or watch TV, and write. I hope to one day develop reviewing skills, and maybe “start my own blog”. You can find me on my medium profile, as I sometimes write articles.
Medium Profile: https://medium.com/@Sarahbooks13
Tricia S.
– reads most romance (NO military, NO romantic poetry, NO shifters), also interested in reimagined fairytale, fantasy, rockstar, MC/biker stories, horror, sci-fi, historical, fantasy romance, paranormal (ONLY vampires & witches)
V.B. “Can Do Indie Author”
– reads romance (but NO new adult/college, NO Young Adult, NO sports, NO biker, NO poetry, NO ménage, NO erotica), likes to read sci-fi, fantasy
VB is an indie author who writes romance and Sci Fi and voraciously reads anything (with some limits). When she’s not reading and writing, she’s working a day job to pay for her truck habit and puttering around her house
Ginny F.
-reads romance (but NO Young Adult romance, NO sports, NO time travel, NO erotica,
NO ménage, NO taboo/forbidden romance, NO poetry)
I am a military wife, a mom, and a Gigi. All of which I would never change. I have a deep love for reading, and if I was given the opportunity, I truly believe I could do it all day. I decided to start reviewing books one day while I was reading some posts and thought, I can do that. So I commented on a few posts and next thing I know, I am reading some pretty amazing books. My cousin and I started a review blog (www.cuzweread.wordpress.com) and a bookstagram (@cuz.weread.books).
Jamie M.
– reads everything except for fantasy and sci-fi
My name is Jamie Manous. I am a single mom with two adult kids, both in college. I also have three fur babies, two dogs, and one cat. When I am not working or caring for my family, I spend my downtime reading and writing reviews for books and products I like. I like reading because it allows me to escape the world for a couple of hours and destress. I have done countless reviews for Amazon, and I have reviewed many authors including Michelle Major, Jo McNalley, Eva Moore, and E.M Shue. Most of the authors I review write Romance/Harlequin. But I enjoy reading genres like Romance/Harlequin, Murder Mystery, True Crime, Historical Nonfiction, and Historical Fiction. On very rare occasions, I read Fantasy Literature like Harry Potter or Twilight.
I have reviewed for many years and still prefer a good ole paperback any day and own a personal library with about 7,000 books.
Cassandra J.
– reads all genres, all heat levels, especially interested in crime fiction
I am an author from West Virginia. I write mostly crime fiction, horror, romance, poetry, and even children’s. When not writing, I spend most of my time reading. I love to write reviews for every book I read and I read pretty much anything I can get my hands on.
Robin G.
– NO ménage, NO rom com, definitely reads curvy/BBW, enemies to lovers, multicultural, holiday, MC/biker, office romance, military romance, taboo/forbidden, secret pregnancy, royal, mafia romance, PNR, dark romance, all LGBT, contemporary, erotica/erotic romance, all poetry, open to fantasy, historical romance, historical fiction, mental health themes, horror, thriller, suspense, gothic, YA fantasy, fantasy romance, YA romance, literary fiction, dark/gory stuff
My pen name is Robin Goodfellow. I fell in love reading after I picked up Fallen by Lauren Kate. I am currently a licensed substance abuse counselor and LPC-A (although I hope to be an LPC soon). I was also a former math and special education teacher. Although I tried going to medical school, it didn’t work out. On the bright side, I’ve got more time for reading and writing! Mental health is a personal passion of mine, as is crochet, and annoying my husband.
Ginny H.
– reads most romance, but NO LGBT, NO romantic poetry, and NO historical
When I write, I go by the name of Ginny Hofmiller. I indulge in my love for reading and writing romance stories whenever I have free time. I picked up Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume as a child, and then began reading Harlequin Romance Novels as a young adult. My reading preferences shifted during my adult years, and I developed a fondness for Futuristic Novels and Vampire Novels. My YouTube channel, Creative Crafts with Ginny, centers on art/painting projects. My channel has been successful, but I am looking to expand its content to include book reviews and discussions, hoping to promote my books on the same platform. I have worked in the corporate/government for over 30 years. I taught communication courses at the University of Phoenix for about ten years. When not writing or reading, I work on paint-by-numbers projects or produce videos for my channel in my studio.

Hi Marie, I’m new to Word Press and I am finishing up a novel soon. I am so new to this, and having people read my written word scares me to death. But to have people fall in love with my characters, like I have, well, there are no words for that. If you don’t mind coming by my blog and reading a chapter, and let me know what you think. I need all the support I can get!!! ty!!

I read your first chapter, Stacy! Great start! Good job at hooking the reader and starting “en media res”. You created automatic tension by thrusting the heroine into a pretty stressful situation. I think you have a good handle on things.

Hi Marie, this is my first time on your blog. Your response to Stacy (above) was generous and certainly inspiring to her.
I am working on my own new book about romantic love and am very interested in the idea of sustaining the intimacy and ecstasy that occurs early on when two people fall in love. I am convinced that the wonders of romance do not need to disappear with time if a couple works at what I call radical intimacy (deep and open-hearted sharing). I also believe that romantic love gives us the gift of being able to see the true beauty of our partner.
I would love to blog with you and your readers about this. I hope you respond.
Peace and love. Matthew Anderson
