Liebster Award

I have exciting news, which also works very well for ILRB’s 300th post! The I Love Romance Blog  was nominated by the It’s Good to Be Crazy Sometimes blog for the Liebster Award.

liebster2

Thank you so much! ♥♥♥ Please go check out that blog:

https://itsgoodtobecrazysometimes.wordpress.com/2016/04/11/the-liebster-award-2/

Here are the rules.

  1. Post the award on your blog.
  2. Thank the blogger who gave you this award and link back to their blog.
  3. Answer 11 questions given by your presenter.
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers who you feel deserve this award.

My Answers:

cropped-romancewritersuite

  1. Hide up a tree or in a bush? Probably a bush. I’m a little afraid of heights.
  2. Favorite Cartoon? I assume an animated film counts? Let’s try Beauty and the Beast.
  3. Do you like splashing in puddles? Sure, when the mood hits me.
  4. How loud could you scream? This one is hard. I can’t force a scream; I never could. Even when I was a kid, when my cousins and I would play a ‘screaming game’, I tried, but it was almost impossible. Now, in the bedroom… that’s a different story! But, I’ll keep this answer clean. LOL. 😉 I have screamed pretty loud when I was in pain before, in the midst of an injury. I still often wonder if I really could scream if I were being chased or something.
  5. How close are you to your parents? Pretty close. We have a tight-knit family.
  6. Do you have siblings? Yes, I have an older brother and sister. I’m the youngest.
  7. Are you stubborn? Good Lord, yes! It’s sometimes a flaw of mine.
  8. Best Childhood memory: There are so many! I guess the best ones were when we visited my grandparents’ house. We there so often, it was like a second home. Now, the memories are bittersweet because they are gone and I miss them a lot.
  9. Favorite snack: Um…chocolate, of course! Is there any other kind of snack? LOL.
  10. Are you Pink or Blue? Definitely pink! I love hot pink!
  11. Can you guess the sort of theme? Something to do with childhood, perhaps?

My questions for other bloggers:

  1. If money wasn’t an option, where in the world would you visit?
  2. Describe yourself using three words.
  3. As a child, how did you answer that age old question: ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’
  4. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what five things would you need with you to survive or remain sane?
  5. Do you have any pets? Children? Plants?
  6. What do you do outside of your job for fun?
  7. What was the last book you read? What types do you usually read?
  8. What is your favorite meal, either at a restaurant or at home?
  9. Do you often listen to music? What kind?
  10. If you could describe it succinctly, what would your life motto be?
  11. Give us one fact your blog readers might not know about you.

Well, it’s that simple! Thank you for the nomination, and I hope the other bloggers get a chance to participate! As always, it’s been a pleasure! 😀

Vote for Solstice Publishing’s Author of the Year!

Hello, readers! It’s that time of year again, when Solstice Publishing gears up for their Author of the Year contest! Readers get to cast their votes for their favorite author. How exciting, right? So, before I tell you to go ahead and cast your vote for your favorite romance author at Solstice, let me tell you that, yes, I am on the list. This is, however, not shameless begging on my end for you to vote for me. That is certainly your choice. There are lots of talented authors at Solstice, and I respect all of my fellow authors!

But, just in case you’re interested, here is a list of my Solstice book titles in order of recent to oldest, as well as their descriptions. Since this blog is all about romance, I thought it would be apropos to include romance books…

Second Nature, Book 1 of the Blood at First Sight Series
http://bookgoodies.com/a/B00Q7FWIWA

She never expected it…
Desiree Edwards has a problem. She’s been attacked, kidnapped and forced to get along with a vampire of all things. It’s something right out of the story books she reads, or her worst nightmare. But, sometimes he’s not the monster he appears to be. He seems so humanlike that she can’t help it when her emotions betray her, when her body betrays her. To make matters worse, she finds out more about herself than she ever wanted to know.
She was unlike any other…
Alec has a problem. The animal in him wants Desiree. But, so does the man. The more he learns about her, the harder it is to deny what he wants. But, he’s a freak, and she’s just a human. The two species don’t mix that way. Then an old enemy surfaces and Alec is forced to make a choice. His life or hers.
Can Alec’s soul be saved by this unique human? Or will it be far too late?

Upon Your Honor, Book 2 of the Heiresses in Love Series

http://bookgoodies.com/a/B00JTKTODG
Deception is a dangerous path…
New York City, August, 1891 – Orphaned after the death of her father, Chloe Waverly stows away on La Voyageur to escape the clutches of her cruel fiancé, Lamonte Beckett. Gabriel Hill, a strange and compelling gentleman, comes upon Chloe and promises to protect her without knowing the true circumstances of why she is running away. During their journey, Gabriel doesn’t bargain on being distracted by her fair beauty or succumbing to her many charms. As their attraction to each other grows, so does the danger and Gabriel suspects things are not as they should be.
Both are determined to get to New Orleans, where she can start a new life. But, once they reach their destination, events spin out of their control and Chloe is captured by the fiancé she escaped. Gabriel is left wondering if he can overlook her betrayal. Soon he finds himself in a race against time, to reach her before Beckett can exact revenge.
Magick & Moonlight, Book 1 of the Magick Series
http://bookgoodies.com/a/B00IRKN5P2
Messing with free will is always a bad idea…
Ethan Hamilton moves to a lazy little town in Oregon, hoping to escape his demons. But, instead he discovers a woman dancing nude in the moonlight. This woman who claims she is a witch dazzles him with her sensual presence. He thinks she’s crazy, but what if she’s not?
Jessie Anderson has been taught that her kind hides who they really are. And she has a problem on her hands. Someone knows her secret and she has to do all she can to protect herself. What other choice does she have? Jessie casts a love spell on a good man, a man with whom she can’t fight her attraction. The spell doesn’t work quite as planned – she ends up falling for Ethan.
To top it off, Ethan’s treatment of her, his “love”, is so addictive. Deep down, she knows the spell will wear off, and yet his feelings seem genuine. It’s just a spell…right?
Upon Your Return, Book 1 of the Heiresses in Love Series
http://bookgoodies.com/a/B00I0D9LQ8

Fara Bellamont has been back in society for a year after leaving Cluny Abbey, where her uncle sent her long ago. When he chooses a suitor for her for marriage, she fears that she will be forced to marry a stranger and live a miserable life.
But, Fara finds herself thrust into an adventure of a lifetime when unforeseen circumstances cause her to place her trust in a strange man for protection. His intervention not only saves her, but puts her in an even more compromising position.
Grant Hill, a trading captain, is enchanted by the young heiress not only because of her beauty, but because she is hardly conventional. Underneath her ladylike exterior lies a tigress. Grant cannot help but offer his protection as she is in need and he is far from immune from her charms.
Fara just never bargained on the passion that she feels for Grant Hill. As events unfold, she must decide whether her desires and the dictates of her heart should trump the rules of society…

So, there you  have it! I’d post my fellow authors’ books as well, but we have a good 300 authors at Solstice. Lots of peeps, huh? But, to be fair, I’m going to include a link to some of our romance books at Solstice.
Anyway, if you’re interested, here is the place to vote for Author of the Year at Solstice Publishing. Or the direct URL:  http://solsticepublishing.com/blog/vote-for-solstices-publishings-2015-author-of-the-year/
However, if you would like to vote for moi, you’ll find my author name (Marie Lavender…yes, I know the blog doesn’t say Marie Lavender’s I Love Romance Blog…just letting you know my name in case you don’t already know I’m the moderator) about six names up from the bottom of the page.
Happy voting, of course!
And as always, happy reading! VGwy3SJLNYjpgFind a romance book to dive into! You know I would! 😉

The book was published on May 10th on Lulu and Amazon, and it looks something like this:

NOMINATIONS

Some of the bloggers I’ve chosen are new to my blog, while others have visited before. But, all of them are talented, wonderful ladies!

Celia Kennedy – http://www.womanreinventsself.blogspot.com/

IMG_1014

About Celia

Celia Kennedy was born in Wurzburg, Germany on a military base. Her parent’s penchant for traveling has stuck with her, she’s lived in and traveled through several countries.

The imagined world has always fascinated Celia. She has studied Art History, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Architecture. Her thirteen year career at UW in Seattle ended in 1996. Not wanting to be homeless, she left the academic world and worked as a Landscape Architect, married the love of her life, became a mom, has been PTA President, Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout leader.

The unimaginable wealth in her life is the most fascinating thing to her.

Her love of travel, the designed and natural world, friendship, self-discovery, wine, chocolate, AND love are the foundation of her books.

Celia published her first book, Charlotte’s Restrained, The Accidental Stalker in December 2012, Venus Rising in August of 2013, Sugar It’s Cold Outside, Cupid on the Loose Anthology, April’s Fool, Fool’s Rush In Anthology, 2015 AND Kathleen’s Undressed, The Accidental Enigma on February 23, 2015. Three other works are in progress.

Devika Fernando – http://www.devikafernando.com/blog

About Devika

Almost as soon as Devika Fernando could write, she imagined stories and poems. After finishing her education in Germany and returning to her roots in Sri Lanka, she got a chance to turn her passion into her profession. Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with her husband has made her experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds – something that influences her writing. Her trademark is writing sweet, yet deeply emotional romance stories where the characters actually fall in love instead of merely falling in lust. What she loves most about being an author is the chance to create new worlds and send her protagonists on a journey full of ups and downs that will leave them changed. She draws inspiration from everyone and everything in life. Besides being a romance novel author, she works as a self-employed German web content writer, as a translator, and as a faithful servant to all the cats, dogs, fish and birds in her home. When she’s not writing, she’s reading or thinking about writing.

Having always loved to read and write, Devika made her dream come true in 2014 when she became a self-published novelist. The Amazon bestselling author has published several eBooks in the genres contemporary romance, paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Her German and Sri Lankan roots influence her writing.

Beverly Ovalle – http://beverlyovalleromance.blogspot.com/

100_1675

About Beverly

Beverly Ovalle dabbled with writing on and off for years when her best friend finally dared her to submit a story to a writing contest. She decided she had nothing to lose and since she’d always wanted to be an author sent it in and agonized for months waiting to hear back.

Beverly has been obsessed with dragons and romance since she was a young girl, collecting dragon books and reading everything she could find on them even down to the care of real life dragons. On the other hand she’s always been slightly panicked that the world as we know it will end, so has prepped for it, haunting survivalist pages and prepper projects she felt she needed in the event her world ended.

An avid fan of all romance, Beverly’s goal is to share her love of the written word and write the hot and erotic romances that she enjoys. She writes what she loves to read and it was only a matter of time before her obsessions crept into her writing for her to share.

A Navy Veteran, Beverly’s traveled around the world and the United States to be able to bring her settings to life, meeting and marrying her husband of twenty five years along the way for her own romance. Reading romances since the fourth grade she’s followed as the genre changed and spread into the vast cornucopia of romance offered today.

A.B. Funkhauser – http://abfunkhauser.com/

twitter-headshot

About A.B.

A.B. Funkhauser is a funeral director, classic car nut and wildlife enthusiast living in Ontario, Canada. Like most funeral directors, she is governed by a strong sense of altruism fueled by the belief that life chooses us and we not it.

“Were it not for the calling, I would have just as likely remained an office assistant shuffling files around, and would have been happy doing so.”

Life had another plan. After a long day at the funeral home in the waning months of winter 2010, she looked down the long hall joining the director’s office to the back door leading three steps up and out. At that moment a thought occurred: What if a slightly life-challenged mortician tripped over her man shoes and landed squarely on her posterior, only to learn that someone she once knew and cared about had died, and that she was next on the staff roster to care for his remains?
Like funeral directing, the writing called, and four years and several drafts later, Heuer Lost and Found was born.

Andreia – https://bookscoffeeandpassion.wordpress.com/

002dd464bc0c28cfb3bc7088f9a51eb3

About Andreia

Welcome! My name is Andreia. I’m 31 and live in a beautiful small town. I have a lot of passions but books were my first passion, my first love. This blog is all about books and a good cup of coffee. I read, recommend and review them.

Please follow these wonderful bloggers and share the post so that others can too.

And finally, as Sally from smorgasbordinvitation suggests, if you do not have the time to repost and share your award with others, simply accept this box of chocolates she has offered up on her own blog instead.  Yum! 😀
