“In Your Arms” – a poem

In Your Arms

In your arms I’ve found my place,

I can finally breathe,

learn to let go of some of life’s stressors.

 

In your arms I am at peace,

the world melts away until it’s only us,

our quiet breaths,

our shared connection,

only you and me and nothing else matters,

your caressing hand a sign of your affection,

the loving look in your hazel eyes.

 

In your arms I am free,

I can be more,

more than I ever thought possible,

I can try new things,

be stronger.

In your arms I find you to be a healer,

you cleaned up the messes the others left,

you sealed my wounds until I was whole again.

 

In your arms I’ve found my purpose,

the reason we always thought this was destined,

two souls so alike at the core yet different in other ways,

needing a kindred to feel complete.

 

In your arms there’s nothing I can’t do,

no limits I can’t surpass,

in your arms anything is possible.

 

In your arms I find safety like no other,

I can breathe deep,

knowing you’ll always keep me close and never hurt me,

my trust is implicit.

 

In your arms…

I am home.
