Book Review: Ginny’s impression of Perfect for Her by Kathleen Ann Gallagher

Hi, readers! Let’s welcome our new book reviewer, Ginny Hoffmiller. The latest I Love Romance Blog review selection is Perfect for Her by Kathleen Ann Gallagher. Take it away, Ginny!

Thank you!

Perfect for Her

Perfect for Her by Kathleen Ann Gallagher is a Contemporary/Erotic Romance about Angela Carnes, who works as an editor for a new show, which is going better than her love life. Eric is starting a new medical practice and is very interested in Angela; however, they have a few twists and hurled to get through to discover if they are ready for this type of relationship—an adult relationship with real-life issues.

The author did a fantastic job giving the reader a short back story of both main characters. She introduces Angela, her sister, and her grandmother, briefly detailing them and their personalities. Eric has some issues at home and is unsure that Angela will want to get involved once she learns the truth about him. They connect during a wedding, and both want to take their relationship to the next level and discover more about their strong connection.

I thought the book was easy to read and easy to follow. Angela is apprehensive about getting involved with Eric, and he has responsibilities that Angela is not sure she wants to take on during this time in her life.

I enjoyed the characters’ insecurities about getting involved in a new complicated relationship. The challenges and the sexual tension between the characters were a joy to read. The introduction of family members to each main character was done exceptionally well. The author had a way of bringing the reader into the story that made them feel as though they were a part of the story. A story that many of us can relate to. The book would be perfect for a weekend adventure or a long flight across the country.

Here’s a teaser from the book…

She took a few sips of coffee and headed to the door. In the back of the line, she spotted a man who looked familiar. She squinted and craned her neck to get a better look. When he turned to face the front, her jaw dropped, and she froze in place.

Eric! Her mouth became as dry as a desert. She swallowed hard. The wedding! I thought I’d never see him again.

Her heart skipped a beat. Her head felt like it didn’t belong to her body. Everything was a blur. She opened her eyes wide, still experiencing tunnel vision. It took a few moments to force herself to focus and gather her thoughts.

Eric was a friend and fellow doctor of Savannah’s husband, Dr. Rob Sinclair. Since he was Rob’s best man, they’d spent time together in preparation for the big day. After they’d enjoyed each other’s company at the rehearsal dinner, danced at a get-together the evening prior, and had their first kiss when he walked her to her car afterward, she’d realized he’d captured her heart.

All of the feelings of romance surrounding the wedding had pushed her over the top. Love was in the air. At the reception, the bride had insisted they were a match made in heaven when they’d spent half the evening wrapped in each other’s arms on the dance floor. Even though their time together was spent preparing for a friend’s special day, you’d have thought they were the bride and groom.

Angela had looked forward to getting to really know what made Dr. Eric Bradley tick. He’d asked for her number after their goodnight kiss, but Angela had thought he was only being polite. She never expected him to call. It wasn’t unusual for a maid of honor and a best man to flirt, especially after a few glasses of wine, and for that flirting to lead to an unrealistic request.

Angela held her head up and placed her hand over her rumbling stomach. I can do this.

Eric was a polite and professional man. His charm and grace were undeniable. He’d pulled out her chair every time they’d returned from the dance floor, been a perfect gentleman during their slow dances, and the chemistry was undeniable when he’d kissed her. Eric listened closely when she spoke and never interrupted. His attention to details had impressed her when he noticed her designer shoes and complimented them. It was easy to get lost in his dreamy gray-blue eyes, and with wavy, dark hair and strong features, he looked like a candidate for The Bachelor. He was a great dancer, and she shivered as she recalled how close he’d held her. She’d gotten lost in the clean scent of his aftershave while they had danced to a slow song. Angela’s heart had melted when she was cradled in his arms. It made her body tingle just thinking about it.

Now they were too close for comfort, and she had no place to run. It’d be rude not to stop to speak to him, even though she had no idea what to say and was on the verge of a panic attack. Her ears rang as the room narrowed.

Angela stood to the side, took a deep breath, then put on a smile, and went over to him. “Hi, Eric. I’m surprised to see you here.”

“It’s great to run into you, Angela.” He flashed a friendly smile. His brow furrowed. “I’ve been meaning to contact you. You work here, right?” He stumbled with his words.

Eric’s unexpected nervousness wasn’t what was flattering. He’d appeared calm and collected during their time together and given her such high hopes of hearing from him. She’d eventually given up and thought she’d never see him again.

“Yes, I work here. How’ve you been?” Angela gave him a tiny grin. Her insides did flip-flops as she waited in anticipation. She couldn’t stop staring into his magnetic blue eyes.

“Do you have time to sit and have a cup of coffee? We can catch up, and I’ll explain why I haven’t gotten in touch.”

The day was getting better. Her body was settling into its normal state. Thank goodness. She’d spare a few minutes to hear him out. “Sure, I’d love to join you.”

I go by Ginny Hofmiller when I write or review books. I indulge in my love for reading and writing romance stories whenever I have free time. I picked up Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume as a child and then began reading Harlequin Romance Novels. My reading preferences shifted during my adult years, and I developed a fondness for Futuristic Novels and Vampire Novels. My YouTube channel, Creative Crafts with Ginny, centers on art/painting projects. My channel has been successful, but I am looking to expand its content to include book reviews and discussions, hoping to promote my books on the same platform. I have worked in the corporate/government for over 30 years.  I taught communication courses at the University of Phoenix for about ten years. When not writing or reading, I work on paint-by-numbers projects or produce videos for my channel in my studio.
